For many months now we have been talking about 12-year-old
Praggnanandhaa breaking Karjakin's record of becoming the youngest GM in
the world at the age of 12 years and 7 months. With just 7 days to go,
it is clear that Pragg can no longer break the record as he has to make
two more GM norms.
We ask Karjakin about Praggnanandhaa and also the world record. His
views on our young prodigy were important because Karjakin had played
Pragg just a few hours ago at the Aeroflot Blitz 2018 where he beat him
1.5-0.5, but was in grave danger in one of the games.
What does keeping the record of World's youngest GM mean to Sergey?
Also, we pose him with 2 famous Tal positions which he identifies and
solves very quickly!
Lastly he also speaks about Candidates and how defending the title means
much more pressure!
